It’s not every day that you have the chance to work with a warmhearted Southern darling who dreams of creating a space to celebrate the old world elegance and sweeter than honeysuckle charm of her city. And when that city happens to be one of the most charming, historic cities of all – breathtaking Savannah, Georgia – you know it’s going to be a project for the books!
Editor and founder of Savannah Soiree, Krista Boyette, got in touch earlier this year to design a logo and coordinating website graphics that would represent her dream in heartfelt style. She envisioned creating an online and print publication to celebrate Savannah weddings and marriages in all seasons of life. From engagements to anniversaries to beautifully Southern wedding days, Krista has a clear vision and is sharing it with the world wholeheartedly.
Krista and I put our heads together to create an elegant, timeless yet approachable and warm visual identity for her publication. With a nod to the antiqued gold in our grandmamas’ picture frames and the soft sage hues of the Spanish moss hanging from Savannah’s ancient trees, we created a warm color palette steeped in meaning. From there, we paired a romantic one letter initial with a classic yet editorial serif for a modern pairing with roots in Savannah’s rich past.
Through a carefully selected list of vendors, real Savannah weddings and celebrations, and a clear mission of celebrating Savannah marriages is all its seasons of life, Savannah Soiree is joyfully calling attention to all the love in the lowcountry! With plans for a print publication in the works, be sure to visit the online journal now for some of the most gracious, lovely work from Savannah, Georgia vendors.
