I know just how you feel, friend. You’re tired, all the way down to your bones. You’ve been hustling hard, fighting the good fight, and working tirelessly to bring your dreams to life. I was losing dinners around the table with my husband, Saturday afternoons in the park with my golden retriever, and the freedom to pursue that which feed my creative well. I was losing sleep, mental clarity and my health. But I overcame, and you can too.

But first, you have to get ruthless. Get ruthless about what you allow into your life, into your day-to-day, and what you allow to take root in your heart. As I strove to reclaim my life from the endless hustle, I asked myself one simple question for every single project, collaboration pitch and new to-do: Does this matter?

Instead of hustling hard for the sake of hustling, I chose to get ruthlessly specific about what I took on, allowing only the things that directly correlated to my big picture into my life. I knew exactly what I wanted for my life and how my business fed into that in the end. And empty networking events, off-brand collaborations and inbox zero didn’t fit into that big picture.

If you’re finding yourself hustling hard with no end in sight, ask yourself what it is that you’re hustling for. Do these projects and to-do’s benefit what you want for your life? Do they get you closer to where you want to be at the end of your days? Or are they unintentionally distracting you, taking you further and further away from the brave things you could do with your life?

Your dreams are too precious to be lost in the endless cycle of hustle, rinse, repeat. Ask yourself what on your agenda truly matters, and cut out all the rest.
