Last fall, I got an email from an incredibly talented boudoir photographer who was in need of a brand overhaul. Thanks for a social media post that went viral, she had an incredible online following, an unbelievable amount of talent, and a top notch client experience! All that remained was a visual identity and heartfelt strategy that reflected the heart of her life’s work.
And after months of intentional work and thoughtful strategy, I am so thrilled to share the full reveal for her re-brand today! Victoria is the tenacious creative behind Victoria Caroline Boudoir, a transformative boudoir experience based in the Austin-area. Together, we worked to design a new logo, full stationery suite, and a beautiful Showit website to serve as powerful representations of her brand wherever she goes.
Before we started working together, Victoria shared that her brand felt “nonexistent.” In her own words, “It went so much deeper than just not having a logo or color palette–I was struggling to get my mission across. I was also struggling with finding a tangible way to infuse myself into my business.
Now, I feel like I have a pillar to lean on, a foundation to build on, and a beautiful representation of the experience I want to offer my clients!”
We put our heads together to design a visual identity that truly looks and feels like Victoria’s work. Her approach to boudoir focuses on empowering her clients to embrace their inner beauty in all seasons of life. From women who are recently engaged, to new mothers, to those celebrating recovery over an illness or exciting personal milestone, Victoria truly has a gift in capturing her clients’ spirit through her posing and lighting.
Her photography aesthetic is deliciously moody, dark, and luxurious. With that in mind, we wanted to create a cohesive color palette that echos the rich tones that pop up in her images all the time. Paired with a touch of gold to elevate the palette as a whole, we focused on weaving in thoughtful details that allowed these dark hues to shine.
Through her website, we included pops of deep plum, inky charcoal, and touches of gold. In print, we created a print suite that includes gold foil stationery and maybe my favorite business cards I’ve designed to date! They’re printed on super thick deep black stock with gold foil on both the front and the back. (Insert that heart eyes emoji right here!)
Victoria has clients that fly in from all over the country and all over the world to work with her! She goes above and beyond to encourage and empower those within her boudoir community whether they’re a current client or not. So it made complete sense for us to focus on creating tangible brand collateral that allows her to delight and surprise her clients at every turn.
From gorgeous gold foil stationery paired with deep plum envelopes to include a handwritten note with every leather album she delivers or a truly memorable business card to share when chatting with a potential client over coffee, we pulled out all the stops on high-end stationery to match her high-end experience!
And don’t even get me started on her website, y’all. Victoria’s images truly speak for themselves so they just needed a space to shine online!
We also focused on weaving in touches of a feminine, luxe script font throughout her website to elevate the entire design. For as much as I love the light and airy aesthetic that’s having a moment in the industry lately, it was such a joy to create a moody visual presence using dark hues and luxe textures that feels just like Victoria’s work!
Working with Victoria to create a heartfelt brand for her boudoir work was nothing short of a dream. And she humbled the socks right off me when she shared these incredibly kind words:
“Bonnie, you have made this experience so enjoyable. I will never say it was “easy”, because there are so many emotional strings attached to putting a “brand” on a business you’ve worked so hard to create. Digging deep and getting to the heart and soul behind my work wasn’t EASY, but you walked me through it so seamlessly. You asked all the right questions to uncover the truth about my “why”, you had such amazing strategy insight, and above all: you have a true passion for your work and it shows every day.
Thank you for giving me my voice back, thank you for strengthening my “why”, and above all–thank you for always being a safe space where I can air my fears and being so quick to squash them! You created such an incredible brand that I will always be so proud of, and I am forever grateful for you!”
