Happy Monday, friends! Who ate way too much last night while watching the Superbowl? You can’t see it, but I’m raising my hand and gulping down a green juice with the other in a feeble attempt to make amends for all the fried goodies I consumed. I can’t be the only one, right?
This weekend, we had big plans for shooting some new content for the blog, going on a date night out, and all sorts of other fun things! Of course, none of that happened. We instead wound up doing things around the house, catching up on quite a lot of writing, and watching both of the presidential debates. You know you’re taking adulthood seriously when you choose to spend not one, but two date nights in with a bottle of wine and a presidential debate!
But the beauty in taking things slower than you originally intended often looks like making room for the things that don’t often happen during the workweek. I finally had a chance to read the newspaper Armon picked up for me last Thursday. I got to die over Beyonce’s new video and then again over her performance at the Superbowl. We got to learn more about presidential candidates on both sides, tried out a new bakery in town, and spoiled little Boone with lots of quality time. And for as much as we accomplished this weekend, it was one of the first weekends in a long time that I didn’t feel flew by too quickly.
What good things did you fill your weekend with, friend? Whether it was some long overdue projects around the house, or it was a big set of Superbowl festivities with all your favorites, I hope you’re diving back into the workweek feeling refreshed!
P.S. Haven’t been keeping up with the debates or still unsure who you are supporting? Armon and I stumbled across Isidewith.com this weekend, and had a lot of fun asking their in-depth questions on everything from foreign policy to economics and seeing which candidate the automatic quiz paired us with. That being said, please don’t let an online quiz decide who you’re voting for, kids!
