Friends, there is hardly anything more exciting than celebrating one of my sweet branding client’s reveal days, if you ask me! Especially when your sweet client is Angelika Johns, the most hardworking and dedicated woman I know. Angelika is a natural light portrait, engagement, and wedding photographer based in the Washington, D.C.-area and, on top of that, she’s an incredibly dedicated college student! In fact, as I hit “publish” on this post, Angelika is studying abroad in Italy for the semester. I can’t tell you how inspiring it was to walk through Angelika’s re-brand and do this heartfelt work with her while she was also pouring into her clients, serving them well, and maintaining her class load with grace and gumption.

Angelika and I started working together earlier last year to completely revamp her visual presence through a custom logo and a brand new Showit 5 website! In her season of business before we started working together, Angelika says,

“I felt like I had no clear direction or strategy. Now, I feel like I have much more direction! This is so important because it extends into all aspects of your business. If you don’t have clear direction… for your business, it makes it so difficult to market yourself and feel like you’re making progress.”

Feeling a struggle to market yourself well or assess your progress as you move forward is absolutely not what I wanted for talented Angelika, so we got right to work as we crafted a clean, modern new logo to serve as the face of her brand across all print and online mediums!

Together, we focused on pulling in colors that not only reflect Angelika’s style and aesthetic, but also colors that will resonate with her ideal clients. From shades of grey to soft neutrals with a pop of the most perfect millennial pink, her color palette reflects the warmth and personality that Angelika exudes.

From there, we took her custom logo and alternate marks and wove them throughout her new Showit 5 website that serves as her brand’s online home. Since Angelika serves seniors, brides and grooms, brands, and takes on a handful of destination shoots each year, we wanted to build a robust online presence that showcases all her work and makes it clear how her ideal clients can connect with her.

With pops of pink, plenty of neutral touches, and gorgeous full-screen images on every page, Angelika’s site truly lets her work shine through in all its glory!

One of my favorite details from her new site is the interactive map we designed for her About page that showcases every adventure she’s taken, along the links to photos of her travels! From the Netherlands to the coast of California, this gal has some amazing adventures under her belt. And I love that now her website visitors are able to enjoy those adventures with her!
