Custom Brand Design + Showit Web Design | Lindsay Davenport Photography

February 8, 2019

Launch weeks are my all-time favorite, and I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce y’all to the new lavender-inspired, feminine visual identity for Lindsay Davenport Photography! A wedding photographer for heartfelt couples, educator for photographers, and all-around sweetest human ever, Lindsay is a Dallas-based photographer who you absolutely have to get to know. And I’m thrilled to share her rebrand with y’all today!

It’s been my honor to work with Lindsay to rebrand her photography business over the past few months, and it’s such a true joy to be able to celebrate her brand reveal and website launch with her this week!

When Lindsay first came to me, she felt “unconfident and unintentional” with her branding. That just makes my heart ache, y’all! Those are two words that you should never have to feel when it comes to your brand. Lindsay was living with a brand that didn’t reflect her gorgeous photography aesthetic, or her years of experience as a photographer, let alone her expert status as an industry educator! So we put our heads together to craft an intentional, purposeful brand that strategically positions her as the go-to photographer for her couples, as well as the must-have mentor and educator for her fellow photographers.

Lavender (both the color, smell and flower) has always been something Lindsay loves, and we knew that had to play a key role in her refreshed visual identity. Sitting down with Lindsay to dive deep into your vision for your wedding day, or to talk through how she can empower you to hit your big business dreams as a photographer on your own terms, feels like a breath of fresh air! So I wanted her visuals to reflect that refreshing, honesty, and welcoming feel.

I created a custom illustrated spring of lavender that we wove throughout all of her brand assets. From a sweet alternate mark to a footer detail on her website to a letterpressed accent on her custom stationery suite, we had the most fun tying this element into unexpected places. I mean, don’t you just die over that darling custom enveloper liner?!

But the intentional design didn’t stop with her stationery presence! Lindsay and I poured more hours than I can count into her gorgeous new Showit 5 website in order to create a robust online home for the LDP brand.

We intentionally carved out spaces where Lindsay can serve both her brides, fellow photographers, and brides-to-be through resources that meet them right where they are. The Marriage Hub is Lindsay’s signature resource center for engaged couples, newlyweds, and partners who are looking to invest in their relationship in all seasons. And it just may be my favorite part of the website.

In her own words, Lindsay said,

“I feel so confident in the way my site is able to serve so many of you in a streamlined way–while looking…LOVELY. [Bonnie] just NAILED IT. She was beyond amazing to work with this past half year as she heard my heart and laid it out in design on my website. In a way, I felt like I was handing my heart over to her and trusting. Yes, she so delivered.”

You can even read Lindsay’s own launch day blog post (and recap of what it was like to work together!) right here.

As with any intentional rebrand, Lindsay’s new website needed to offer her the space to spread her wings as she explores new ways to serve her couples and fellow photographers well. While her past brand was holding her back in those areas, her new visual identity offers the tools and confidence she needs to do business beautifully (and straight from the heart!).

One of my favorite ways we ensured Lindsay’s site serves her, and her ideal clients, well is through a custom self-hosted shop filled with templates and resources for fellow photographers. And we even packed in some incredible freebies so photographers in any season of business can instantly start elevating their own businesses! Crafting the promo images for these freebies and products was such a fun way to bring Lindsay’s new brand to life through gorgeous stock images and branded guide covers that reflect her beautiful color palette.

So what are you waiting for, friend? Be sure to head on over to the new LDP online home where you can see Lindsay’s branding in action. And be sure to help us celebrate her launch week by leaving some love on her blog or on this post below. ❤️
