Over the past seven years as a brand designer and strategist, I have gone through so many seasons of business.

How to leverage brand strategy to uplevel your design biz

Over the years, I’ve learned not only how to create a brand that stands out but also a thing or two about how to successfully uplevel your design business.

Whether you’re going through a big pivot or you’re simply wanting to intentionally elevate your processes and business as a whole in order to bring in higher end clients—I wholeheartedly believe you have all the tools you need in order to make that jump.

And I also believe there are a few key pieces of advice that can help you make that transition more seamlessly.

So today, I’m going to share with you the specific ways that brand strategy can empower you to uplevel your design business.

WHAT IS BRAND STRATEGY?

Now as we dive into this conversation you might be thinking—brand strategy, okay great, as a designer I already have a wonderful worksheet I use to guide my clients through before we start the design process—but friend, I challenge you to think about the true meaning behind brand strategy.

But let me ask you this.

Is guiding your clients through a handful of short worksheets the same as encouraging them and inviting them into an in-depth strategy process that truly hones into the heart of who they are, what they do, how what they do is different, who it’s for, and how they can communicate that in the long run.

Most of the time I’m sad to say that when I’ve sat down with my 1:1 mentoring students or the women inside the Brand Strategy School, and we take a look at past worksheets they send out to clients we notice they’ve merely been scratching the service of brand strategy.
