Why it’s time to stop listening to experts

October 29, 2019

Friend, if you find yourself reading this post because of this unpopular opinion, “why it’s time to stop listening to experts,” then I’m glad you’re here. What I have to say today probably isn’t what you’re going to find on every industry experts blog, but it’s something I’ve found to be true in my own experience.

Now, am I telling you to ignore all the experts out there? No!

But, I do want to share with you through today’s post an approach to help you tune into the right experts who can propel you and your business forward.

Over the years I’ve seen so many incredible entrepreneurs take their businesses in every which way based on the advice of an “expert”. Based on something they read in a blog post, found on Pinterest, or listened to on a podcast—they implement strategies, approaches, and ideas that someone else recommended.

Is that wrong? No!

But I believe that can only take you so far.

Because if we think about it, these experts who are telling you what you “should” be doing and how you “should” be growing and scaling your business are sharing what worked for them and maybe a handful of their own clients. But they aren’t giving you advice that’s actually tailored to who you are, your unique goals, or how you do your best work.

I want to share with you that back in 2012 I did something that completely changed the trajectory of my business.

There are business gurus out there who believe that the key to getting more branding clients as a designer and making more money is to: work harder, hustle, work longer hours, hustle, add more projects, and hustle to get out in front of your ideal clients.

And I have to say that I just cannot get on board with that approach. Going “all in” all the time is simply a recipe for burnout.

Now, I used to believe that success happened in the hustle. At one point, I believed that in order to earn more I had to do more.

But I unintentionally put myself on the fast-track path to burnout and overwhelm through that approach.

And rather than live in that disappointing season for long, I decided to change and I discovered the business secret that no one is teaching.

That a heartfelt approach to building a brand design and strategy business that did not require my time or energy to make more money or connect with my ideal clients is achievable.

And I teach the core of that system through my three part brand strategy blueprint inside my free training just for designers and branding professionals.

In this training I cover the exact approach I teach on how to triple your income without taking on more branding clients.

This is a training that any branding professional cannot miss!

If you’re ready to get off the hamster wheel that promises you success and instead you’re willing to put in the work to approaching your design and strategy business in a smarter, more intentional way, then I can’t wait for you to dive into this content with me.

The best part?

In this free training, I’m giving away some really amazing freebies to those who join me and you get to vote on the exact goodies you want to receive at the end of the training.
