HOW TO PIVOT YOUR BRAND WITH INTENTION

About a year ago, Lauren ran the Real Female Entrepreneur platform and podcast along with an online membership program for women craving personal development alongside their business.

Lauren shares that this season of her business was amazing, yet she felt a massive tug of uncertainty in her heart. She didn’t know where it would lead, but she sat in that feeling and honed into that uncertainty in order to step into what she was called to do.

“When we look back on our journeys and experiences,” Lauren shared. “It can lead us to where we are today and where we will one day be. They are all stepping stones building upon each other.”

A few months after this tug, she closed both her podcast and membership platforms and now works 1:1 with women through intuitive, heart-based, soul-infused coaching that helps them reclaim their power and step into their truth so they can show up and do the work they are meant to do with a sense of ease, confidence and joy.

Whether you’re in a season of uncertainty or feel that tug in your heart that your business is ready to head in a new direction, Lauren is here to share some hard truth behind how to do this with intention.

THE FEELINGS HEADING INTO A PIVOT

There wasn’t a specific moment that led Lauren to this pivot in her business. It was months of reflecting and really feeling the tug on her heart to move into a new direction. But instead of simply “pivoting”, Lauren spent so much time wondering:

Is this really the right move?

How do I know it’s the right move?

If it is, what’s next?

How do I begin to make this pivot?

It was a slow building that allowed her to sit in those feelings and truly feel the uncertainty.

“It’s so powerful to give yourself permission to not have the answer,” Lauren expressed. “And to take the time to sit in that uncertainty and really feel these emotions before ever taking action.”

Lauren went on a 3-month sabbatical from her podcast and that’s where a lot of clarity came for next steps. It was both figuring out how to close the doors on the business she had been running and simultaneously looking ahead at her new brand and how she can start showing up there.

As you close one door you’re opening up a new one. But it is slow, intentional actions that came after sitting in the emotions and feelings of wanting to pivot your brand.

HOW TO INTENTIONALLY SHOW UP FOR YOUR AUDIENCE

Give yourself the time and space to show up in this new way.

Be transparent with your audience about what’s going on and then show up and share the honest-behind-the-scenes journey. Take them along through that uncertainty in the best way you can.

In our industry it’s so easy for us to find comfort in the to-do list, action items, and defined goals because that’s how so many of us are taught how to track progress and define success.

But sitting in the unknown is a gift we don’t give ourselves enough because it can get uncomfortable.

Lauren reminds us that discomfort is the gateway to growth. “We are all here because we are growth-oriented humans,” Lauren shared. “We want to do impactful work in the world. One of the best things you can do is invite yourself to sit with the discomfort.”

Whenever she feels discomfort, Lauren pulls out her journal and writes down her feelings. That way she is able to see exactly what it is that is making her feel this discomfort and see it from a birds-eye view instead of just being in it.

“You navigate from comfort to something new by allowing yourself to sit in the discomfort and by finding tools and resources that empower and support you in doing that.” she said.

INDICATORS TO NAVIGATE DISCOMFORT

Lauren has a list of indicators that has so powerfully served her through discomfort and seasons of uncertainty. Whenever she is faced with a big decision—especially the decision to pivot her brand—she goes through these simple, but powerful indicators:

If it excites you, move towards it.

If it scares you ask, how will this help me grow?

If you feel uncertain, get quiet, close your eyes and get curious.

If it feels boring or disinteresting, walk away.

If the bigness scares you, can you envision yourself expanding into that bigness?

If yes, does that feel wildly exciting?

If yes, lean in. Lean in. Lean in.

If you’re facing a big decision or a pivot within your own brand, we encourage you to write these indicators down and to hone into how you’re truly feeling. By the end you’ll know if it’s time to walk away or lean in.

DEFINING A SUCCESSFUL BRAND PIVOT

When asked what a successful brand pivot looks like, Lauren shared that it’s one that feels empowering to you.

We all want success. But in the end, what we actually want more are the feelings that success can bring into our lives.

We want to feel like our work deeply matters.

We want to feel seen and heard.

And at the end of the day, those feelings will fall into place if the pivot we are walking through feels empowering.

It’s easy to get caught up in looking at the success of others and thinking that’s what we should do, too. But we need to remember that we get to define our own success based on how it feels to us. Not others. To us.

TRUST YOURSELF

So much of our lives we are taught how to trust others but not how to trust ourselves. Trust doesn’t exist without uncertainty. Trusting yourself means there is going to be uncertainty.

Step into it and ask, what would it feel like to fully trust yourself?

If you’re currently sitting in a season of uncertainty you are not alone. We see you and are here to encourage you through this season!

As part of this episode, Lauren is sharing an awesome gift with our audience to help us tap into our intuition with similar indicators she walked us through in this episode.
