3 Elevated Visual Identities for Wedding Pros

Question for you, sweet friend. What do you want to be known for? At the end of your entrepreneurial journey—what qualities or values do you want people to recognize in you? What areas and visual identities of your brand set you apart?

As a brand designer and strategist, I’ve learned that it’s our values, beliefs and mission that allow us to differentiate ourselves from others in our industry. Without a clear understanding of what we believe as brands, what we value, and how we can invite our clients into that experience with us—we struggle to carve out an intentional niche for our work. That’s why I incorporate my signature brand development process into every branding project that I take on.

Together, I want to guide my clients through a proven process that enables them to get to the core of what not only sets their brand apart, but what their brand can be known for in the long run.

3 Elevated Visual Identities for Wedding Pros

As you think over this concept, sweet friend, I’d encourage you to ask yourself some thoughtful questions and carve out 15-30 minutes to honestly answer each one:

  • What sets you apart from others in your industry?
  • What does your brand stand for?
  • What does your brand value?
  • What are the attributes, qualities or perspectives that you truly want to be known for?

When I ask myself these same questions, I always come back to my deep desire to help creative entrepreneurs craft elevated brands that authentically reflect the heart of their life’s work.

I value the story that lies at the heart of every brand I build. And if I can be known for creating that kind of work and those kinds of experiences for my sweet clients, then that will be one of the biggest honors of my career!

Here are three brands I’ve been absolutely honored to walk alongside as we elevated their visual identities to tell a story of their life’s work and set them apart from others in the wedding industry.

1) Leverage New Visual Identities | Flower Girl Em

A massively talented wedding and event floral designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Emily of Flower Girl Em is a creative force like none other. Her heart for crafting organic, wild arrangements that reflect the heart of her couples’ stories, paired with her true talent as a floral artist, come together to present bouquets and installations that set the tone for any event. Which is why I knew we needed to build a custom brand that positioned her as the go-to expert for her ideal clients in a way that honors her signature style.

When Emily first reached out, she had big goals of launching a brand that reflected her signature style, spoke to her ideal clients, and allowed her to position herself as a must-have floral designer in her area.

With her old brand, she was starting to see inquiries from ideal clients with higher budgets trickle in. But we needed to turn up the “wow factor” on her visual identity in order to make that trickle of ideal inquiries a steady stream.

Emily’s favorite flowers to work with are Cosmos (the flowers highlighted in her custom icons) and I just knew this special hand drawn floral would carry such a special meaning throughout her brand.

These custom, hand drawn flowers were such a joy for me to create as a reflection of Emily’s signature style.

2) Strategic Elevated Elements | Cassandra Dattoli

Cassandra Dattoli is a heartfelt, talented wedding designer offering full wedding planning and bespoke floral design. As her talent and portfolio grew, Cass knew her old brand was holding her back from hitting her full potential. So we put our heads together and got to work!

Through a timeless serif font pairing and a color palette of black, white and pops of blush—we focused on pulling in subtly romantic details that would speak to Cass’s ideal client.

From a custom Squarespace website to a gorgeous stationery suite and series of client magazines, we created a robust arsenal of branded materials that take the CD brand to heartfelt new heights.

For Cass, we focused on pulling in stylized type so we could add an elevated element that would stand the test of time.

3) Heartfelt Custom Illustration Details  | Lindsay Davenport Photography

A wedding photographer for heartfelt couples, educator for photographers, and all-around sweetest human ever, Lindsay is a Dallas-based photographer who you absolutely have to get to know!

When Lindsay first came to me, she felt “unconfident and unintentional” with her branding. That just makes my heart ache, y’all! Those are two words that you should never have to feel when it comes to your brand.

Lindsay was living with a brand that didn’t reflect her gorgeous photography aesthetic, or her years of experience as a photographer—let alone her expert status as an industry educator!

We put our heads together to craft an intentional, purposeful brand that strategically positions her as the go-to photographer for her couples, as well as the must-have mentor and educator for her fellow photographers.

A goal we had with Lindsay’s brand was to weave in heartfelt details that tell a story close to Lindsay’s heart. Lindsay has a very special connection with lavender, and I just knew we needed to craft a custom illustration throughout her brand to tell this story in such a meaningful way. Throughout her logos, stationery and website design these custom illustrations craft an intentional brand that reflect the heart of Lindsay’s work.
