Perhaps my favorite component of visual branding is how multifaceted it truly is! With small business branding, you aren’t limited to just logo design, print collateral or website design. You have the opportunity to curate a well-executed and thoughtful brand through your client experience, physical touch points and especially your images! As a brand stylist, I love playing a part in every aspect of my clients’ brand development, so when my sweet client Megan of Pour L’Amour Creative mentioned she was interested in creating styled on-brand images for her updated website, I jumped at the chance to pitch in.
I had the absolute pleasure of driving down to Houston in early June to spend the day working one-on-one with Megan. We spent the day styling various vignettes for her website and marketing materials, practiced styling and editing photos for Instagram, and even took a few headshots! It’s no secret that I love styling, and it was such a great chance of pace to step away from Adobe Illustrator and utilize my affinity for styling and photography for the day.
The purpose of this shoot day was to give Megan high quality, stylized images that represented not only her brand’s aesthetic and color palette, but also to capture the creative, playful yet chic attitude that her brand exudes. We focused on using an assortment of Megan’s calligraphy and art supplies mixed in with props that mesh perfectly with her brand palette of aubergine, grey, black and white.
Head over to the Pour L’Amour website to see how we incorporated these images into different aspects of her website layout, and be sure to follow along via Instagram to see more of Megan’s calligraphy, handlettering and creative works in action!
