There’s something to be said about putting brush to paper with the intent to create in this digital age. With tools like Photoshop and Illustrator at our fingertips, it’s become easier and more time efficient to create a digital design than with graphite, paint and paper. Although I’m immensely thankful for my digital tools, I thrive off of sketching out logo designs in a notebook or playing around with watercolors. It’s food for my creative soul.
Recently, I sat down at my kitchen table to decompress from emails, text messages and work orders. Surrounded by an assortment of paint brushes, small mason jars filled with water and an inexpensive set of watercolor paints, I spread out and painted. Three hours later, I was still painting.
During that time of freedom and creativity, I doodled out some sweet, whimsical portraits. Ladies with fashionable top knots and men with dapper bow ties all made an appearance on the page. Creating each one was a joyful process, full of personality and possibility. While I originally had no intent for these little cameos, it struck me how sweet and unique it would be to personalize wedding stationery in such a way.
What sweeter, more genuine way to create your wedding invitations or save the dates than to have you and your fiance’s likenesses lovingly recreated on paper – not in Illustrator or off of a stock vector site. Simple and full of whimsy, each portrait is wholly custom and painted to your requests.
