Cue every bittersweet feeling to exist!

We all go through “seasons” as a business owner. Seasons of hardship, growth, change, and every little season in between. But the good news is, we don’t have to go through these seasons alone.

My sweet friend and 2018 Illume Retreat alum, Monica W., shares her heart of how the Illume Retreat changed here life.

The turning point in my life and business

“Prior to attending Illume I was going through a turbulent life chapter, and everything, including my business, felt like it was in flux. The moment the email alerting me to the ticket sales popped up in my inbox, it felt like a little nudge. I knew that Illume could be a turning point for me.

I was seven years into my business when I chose to attend the Illume Retreat. It was a way of investing in myself, and giving myself permission to do so. It was the biggest investment I’ve ever made, and it paid off ten fold!

I grew in confidence, had greater clarity in my own business vision and path, and spent time in the company of truly incredible businesswomen, many of whom I’m still in touch with today.

The Illume Retreat equipped me with the confidence to follow my own path. I learnt so many practical lessons about running my business, and planning for its future. And I go back to my Illume lessons ALL the time.

I took SO much away from the Illume Retreat, but first and foremost I felt refreshed. It was refreshing to spend time in the company of other creative women, who were all struggling with their own business quandaries. I felt a lot less alone, which in itself was hugely buoying.

I felt rejuvenated, and like I had a LOT to process. It took me a few months to do so (in fact I’m probably still doing so!) but attending the Illume Retreat was a turning point for me both professionally, and personally.

Furthermore, the group of women who attended Illume were fantastic, as were our teachers. It was inspiring and educational just being in their company. We continue to support and cheerlead one another on, both individually and through the Illume Facebook group.
