WHY IT’S TIME TO STOP LISTENING TO EXPERTS
Over my years as a designer, strategist, and coach for designers, I’ve seen so many entrepreneurs take all sorts of frantic steps based on the input or advice of well-meaning “experts.” They launch blogs, podcasts, and YouTube channels. They create opt-ins to grow their email lists and trip wire products to make passive income.
Is that wrong? No!
But I believe that following the advice of blogs, podcasts, or Pinterest pins can only take you so far.
Think about it, friend. These experts, the ones telling you what you “should” be doing and how you “should” be doing it in order to grow and scale your business, are sharing what worked for them in their own businesses, and perhaps a handful of their own clients. But each and every business (and person!) is so unique. This advice has NOT been tailored to who you are, what your unique goals may be, or how you do your best work. Just because it’s worked for someone else does NOT necessarily mean it will work for you, too—and that is perfectly okay!
