In the 10+ years that I have crafted elevated, strategically designed brands for my own clients, I have seen some common patterns pop up time and time again. These are usually a sign that it’s time to break up with the brand that’s holding you back, instead of living with a brand that is unintentionally hindering you from experiencing all the growth that awaits you.

Break Up With The Brand That’s Holding You Back

As we explore this topic friend, it’s important to identify exactly when it’s time to make some changes within your brand. When I talk about breaking up with the brand that’s holding you back, it might not be this obvious, incredibly clear, kind of experience. Instead, especially for those of us with established brands, this might be a change that begins to creep up on you slowly. And that’s okay! But, here are a few key signs to look out for to help you figure out if your brand is not doing the heavy lifting for you anymore.

SIGNS YOUR BRAND IS HOLDING YOU BACK

If you find that you are not connecting consistently with your ideal clients this might be the first sign that your brand is not working for you strategically anymore.

Do you find yourself not generating a consistent revenue? If so, this could be your second sign that your brand is holding you back. If clients are not booking with you consistently, or you are not seeing consistent sales come through, that tells me that something about your branding, messaging, or visuals, aren’t quite aligning. And, as a result, they’re not generating the revenue that you want or that you need.

The third key sign is that you are not positioned as an expert in your industry. If you find that you are constantly getting passed over for competition (or worse!), even when you know that you have years of experience or expertise, or your colleagues and competitors don’t view you as the pro you are, that tells me there’s a disconnect between your actual lived experience and the experience and expertise that you’re sharing through your brand.

YOU AND YOUR BRAND ARE SO WORTHY

Your brand is a powerful opportunity to inspire connection and confidence from your ideal client. When they come across your work online or in person, we want them to confidently believe and buy into the experience that you already have within your portfolio. Whether you’ve been in business for two years or twenty years, you have valuable knowledge around your art, your craft, and your service that can help transform your ideal client’s experience! Whether you are a wedding planner, photographer, floral designer, a coach, or even a personal trainer, you are able to invite your clients into an incredible experience that helps change their lives for the better!

It’s crucial that your brand tells that same story so that your clients are able to find you, connect with you, and hire you! They can then experience the transformation of working with you one-on-one. In today’s day and age, when we are constantly inundated and overwhelmed with options for service providers, it’s important that we are able, as consumers, to hire people that we can connect with!

A really relational way to inspire that connection is by highlighting shared values. Values are a powerful way for you to clearly say, as a brand and business, this is who I am. This is what I believe. And this is what I stand for. And, I reflect those values through the excellent work that I do. Consumers and customers are able to see that and say, “I have those values as well. I cannot wait to learn more about working with this incredible service provider!”

As an added bonus, not only do you get to live out your values in your business, but you also get to use those values to inspire lasting connection with the incredible clients and customers that you serve!

CONSISTENTLY CONNECT WITH YOUR IDEAL CLIENT

When you make the decision to break up with a brand that is holding you back, you enable yourself to consistently connect with the quality of client that you want to work with! If your brand is not positioning you as an expert or not attracting your ideal clients, then by identifying the bottlenecks and by making strategic changes to your brand, you are going to be able to experience consistent connection with your ideal people.

One of my favorite favorite wins that I am able to help my own custom branding clients experience is that connection after launching their strategically designed brands! When you have a brand that speaks to who you are and what you value, and clearly communicates the transformation that your work offers to your ideal client, then it becomes so easy for your people to find you and get excited about learning more. It makes it easier for them to make the confident decision to invest in your high end services!

REFLECTING YOUR VALUE

Making the decision to strategically brand your business can infuse the unique transformation of your work into your brand! And as a bonus, you can charge accordingly.
