My absolute favorite part of the branding process with my incredible clients actually takes place at the very beginning of our time together. Before we dive into color palettes and typeface pairings, we go through an in-depth branding worksheet designed to help them delve into what lies at the core of their brands. Before we can begin to create a beautiful logo and accompanying brand materials, it’s crucial to grasp the values, beliefs and mission behind the brand.
So when Brittany of Brittany Schlamp Photography shared that the heart behind her approach to wedding and engagement photography centered around the concept of legacy and family heritage, my little heart just about jumped for joy. A fine art wedding photography based in Louisiana, Brittany strives to capture heartfelt, timeless images that will serve as tangible mementos for her clients, their children, and their children’s children. For Brittany, it’s all about freezing those once-in-a-lifetime moments so her couples can look back on a life rich with memories and love.
But how do you represent all that heart through something as seemingly simple as logo design? We focused on incorporating thoughtful details and a feminine color palette that would stand the test of time, just like Brittany’s images. A rich, romantic color palette of blush, marsala and gold evokes the classic luxury of a timeless love story. Paired with a custom crest we created to capture the different core values of Brittany Schlamp Photography, a chic serif typeface and a soft calligraphy-inspired font, we were left with a logo that meshed perfectly with the core of Brittany’s brand.
