Friend, if you’re having a rough day then I’m going to have to ask you to keep reading. Don’t get discouraged and think, “Oh, great! Another one of these #bisforbonnieloves features. I probably don’t need to see what she’s sharing today anyway.” Wrong. You absolutely need the cheery, quirky and downright hilarious work of artist Becky Murphy, the mastermind behind Chipper Things, in your life. Her humorous artwork is guaranteed to turn that frown upside-down in no time!
Luckily for us common folk, Becky has created the perfect art prints that aptly depict my two most consistent struggles – should I wash my hair and do I really have to work out today? Bless you, Becky, for making these moral dilemmas a little easier to tackle! Although I usually still skip out on my daily workouts, this hair washing thought process has helped me avoid unnecessary shampooing with ease. And it has become a fast focal point and conversation starter for our guest bath. Welcome to the Bakhtiari household, where we resist regular hair washing and attempt to dodge exercise at all costs! Oh, that’s not an attractive way to make friends? Oops.
Becky’s shop, Chipper Things, is filled with quirky prints and fabulous artwork that is a great reflection of her unique style. I also love her “Be Present” print, which serves as such a thoughtful reminder to be fully immersed in every moment of your life. It’s incredibly refreshing to come across art and lettering work that is an authentic representation of the artist who created it. I have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for artists who listen to the beat of their own drum, and Becky’s work is no exception. And did I mention she wrote a book? About rocking life as a short gal? Kristen Bell had nice things to say about it, so no big deal. Becky and I are basically soul sisters and she doesn’t realize it yet.
So aren’t you glad you stuck around and read through this week’s feature? I’m positive your day has already taken a turn for the better now that Chipper Things is in your life. Hooray! Becky, thank you for creating such joy-filled, vibrant work for others to enjoy. Know there’s a slightly greasy haired, only marginally athletic designer in South Carolina who’s cheering you on!
