Friends, I have a confession to make. This weekend, I may or may not have received one of those big heart-shaped boxes of chocolates for Valentine’s Day. And the entire box may or may not already be gone. Can we try to justify that by saying that since all of those chocolates are always so small, that’s the equivalent of eating like two or three brownies? No? Okay, I tried.
I filled my weekend with plenty of walks in the neighborhood with Boone to make up for it, and the weather here in Waco was absolutely gorgeous! Armon and I have always celebrated Valentine’s Day on the 13th, which started the first year we were dating. Long story short, I was having a horrible day on February 13th many years ago so Armon moved up all our Valentine’s plans to that day in order to surprise me. I guess the tradition stuck, as we’ve been enjoying this holiday all to ourselves for the past seven years.
Since we’re going out of town this week to New Orleans with friends, we didn’t want to do anything too crazy to celebrate. Instead, we brunched by the river, enjoyed margaritas and soaked up the warm sunshine! I also snagged this incredible bunch of tulips at the grocery, and have been obsessed ever since.
Whether you spent this weekend with your spouse or best friend, I hope you were able to fill your time with the little things that make your heart happy! Cheers to diving into another work week feeling refreshed and motivated, friends.
