If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I love a good pair of leggings as much as the next girl. But that doesn’t mean I won’t get my act together when the holidays roll around! I’ll gladly don a pair of trousers with a proper waistline when friends are coming over, and I pride myself on being quite the master of the polished, casual look. Think pairing your favorite cozy sweater with accessories that make a statement for a comfy, feminine ensemble that doesn’t feel like you’re trying too hard! This year, rather than going out for a festive holiday party, I’m planning on inviting a few close friends in for a night of good food, heartfelt conversation, and a board game or two if we’re feeling crazy! Which is exactly the opportunity to call on a polished, casual look for a fun, festive, and low-key night of hosting.

Now, don’t get me wrong — a casual look can easily feel warm and intentional, especially when you enlist the help of some thoughtful accessories. This sweet little sitting area in my office gets incredible natural light all throughout the day, so even after our living room is covered in darkness this space still feels pleasant and inviting. So it’s a great place to curl up with a glass of red wine for quality conversation before a laid back dinner of snacks and charcuterie. There’s nothing better than snacks for dinner, right? And y’all know I had to test out the wine ahead of time to ensure it makes the cut. At least that’s what I’ll keep telling myself!
