Julia is an incredibly talented wedding photographer specializing in moment-driven photography for heartfelt couples. With over a decade of experience posing her once camera-shy couples like a pro, and capturing moments made to last a lifetime, Julia was the epitome of a dream client for me!
From her warm-yet-elevated brand identity to her custom Showit 5 website design (complete with done-for-you copywriting!), we wove so much personality into every asset to help Julia expertly shift from a brand that she’d since outgrown to one that gave her the space to invite her couples into an unforgettable, joy-filled experience.
Custom Brand + Showit Website Reveal
Julia reached out last year with an interest in creating an elevated, modern brand and website that didn’t sacrifice the signature warmth and friendliness that’s such an integral part of her client experience.
After years with a brand that was no longer reflecting her level of experience or positioning her to command high-end rates, she wanted to be able to invite her potential clients into a polished, elevated online experience. That’s where I stepped in to not only build a custom brand that reflects the heart of the JJW brand, but to also design a gorgeous Showit 5 website that will serve her, and her clients, well for years to come.
SETTING GOALS FOR JULIA’S CUSTOM BRAND DESIGN
Our goals for Julia’s re-brand centered on:
- Positioning the JJW brand as the go-to wedding photographer for heartfelt couples in the Fairfield area.
- Creating a brand that reflects the one-of-a-kind JJW experience that prioritizes client experience, moment-driven photography, and memories that will last a lifetime.
- Establishing the JWW brand in a way that empowers Julia to charge more for her services so she can take on fewer weddings each year without compromising overall profit.
INSTANT IMPACT
Even before launching her new website earlier this month, Julia had been able to dramatically raise her wedding rates to reflect her expertise and experience! In her own words, “Going through the process… helped me raise my prices AND book 6 weddings in two weeks (out of 8 inquiries). The bookings are simply based on the confidence and clarity I have gained through working with you.”
If we look at that data another way, friend, that’s a 75% booking rate at a higher price point before Julia’s brand and website even launched! This is truly the power of strategic branding, fellow creative, and it’s just one of the reasons I am so passionate about the work I do.
DESIGN ON PURPOSE
When we started working together, Julia was dreaming of a brand that captured the moment-driven, stress-free method she utilizies during each clients’ wedding day. Through thoughtful touches like modern, clean logo type to a crisp wordmark, I designed a brand that communicates the kind of experience Julia brings to every couple she works with.
For her color palette, we went with a mix of classic navy, soft blues, and grays. This rebrand took Julia’s brand from one that felt outdated to an aesthetic that she is proud to share with clients and industry friends alike.
After nailing down her visual identity, we turned our attention to her online presence. Throughout this custom Showit 5 site, I wanted to let Julia’s images take center stage while weaving in minimal, clean nods to her visual brand through the use of type, color, and white space. While Julia’s beautiful images made my job as her designer easy, we focused on also bringing in opportunities for Julia’s personality to shine throughout the site. My personal favorite details are Julia’s favorite things on her About page, and “You know you’re a JJP couple when…” canvas on her Experience page!
