So grab a cup of coffee and join me on this journey, won’t you?

Today I’m sharing a little bit of bite-sized episode that is intended to hopefully encourage you wherever you are in your journey as a creative. So whether you’re just getting started and you’re building your business, or you’re in those seasons of scaling and you, like me, have been in business for years and you’re exploring what further growth looks like along the way, I wanted to share with you something that has really been resonating with me. It’s actually kind of some advice that, um, I’ve been taking myself. And it is along the theme of making decisions and showing up as the version of you that aligns with your big picture and long-term definition of success. So if you’ve been a longtime listener, then you know that, um, I really feel passionately about figuring out what success looks like to you, right? Like on the internet these days, and since kind of forever, it seems like society, your, you know, friends from school, your coworkers, your colleagues, your business besties, everybody has their own idea of what success looks like.

And it is easy to feel influenced kind of overtly and covertly by how other people define success. And so sometimes it is really easy for us to kind of get caught up in living life and taking action and growing a business in a way that actually doesn’t really align with like what we want for ourselves. But we were taking these steps and kind of going through the motions because we thought we were supposed to want it. So anyway, um, kind of the short and sweet of it is today’s episode is a little encouragement to show up today as the version of you that has already experienced the success that you are looking for. So instead of kind of getting caught up in thinking about like, okay, you know, what do I need to do in order to become the business owner that I want to become?

What do I need to do in order to have the business that I want to have? Whether that looks like having a certain, uh, you know, kind of team structure so you have a certain amount of support, maybe that’s a certain revenue or income goal. Maybe that’s a certain set of offerings or services. You know, regardless of the specifics, what are the actions that you can do now that will help you be that version of you today? So how do you wanna carry yourself? How do you wanna feel? How do you wanna problem solve and create solutions? How do you want to engage with others? How do you wanna engage with yourself? How do you wanna talk to yourself, right? Like the future version of you as your most successful and heartfelt, uh, CEO, how does that person talk to themselves? How do they carry themselves? Um, for me personally, that looks like speaking to myself with a lot more compassion and a lot more understanding. And it looks like, um, you know, today showing up and making decisions from that grace-filled place. So I kind of heard this, uh, I, gosh, I like can’t even remember where exactly I heard this from, but it was ironically, uh, in the context of morning routines. And I love a good morning routine. And I like, that’s one of the things that I will always, always be interested in hearing people talk about. Like, if you wanna tell me what your morning routine looks like, Hmm, I’m there, let’s get into it. But it was along the kind of theme of creating the morning routine, that future you needs, not the one that today you want.

So instead of dreaming of being the person that you want to be and kind of spending your energy thinking about the future, uh, think about what you could do today to take consistent small actions to be that person right now. And I heard that and I thought, oh, interesting. What does that look like when we are applying that on a broader scale, right? You could get really granular and you could think about how you’re showing up and starting each day in your business. Like, what are the actions that future you would take when, you know, opening up things for the day? What are the kinds of thoughts? What are the kinds of, you know, perspectives or mindset shifts that feature you might have? So there’s, you know, kind of with everything that I share on the podcast, there’s no like right or wrong way to do this.

And there’s no like one size fits all kind of solution. So if this idea feels fun for you to play with and kind of experiment with, then I encourage you to join me and figuring out what that looks like for you. On the flip side, if you’re like, Ugh, that sounds great, but I just don’t have the capacity for it right now. Amazing. I love that for you too. You know, this is something that you can always revisit in the future if needed, or just move on from it all together and never actually do anything with it. That is the beauty of being the people that we are and having the autonomy that we have, is that we get to choose what works for us and what doesn’t. And there’s no judgment either way. So friend, I hope today’s episode, short and sweet as it is, is encouraging, gives you something to think about and maybe something to play with. So until next time, I’ll be cheering you on from Waco.
